YOU OUGHTA KNOW...if you don't already... New Motorcycle Laws Went into Effect September 1, 2009
Just a couple of items to bring to your attention that are coming up as of TODAY...some of you could be affected, some of you not, but its better not to get caught with your hand in the cookie jar (or whatever old wives' saying you want to insert there). • As of 9/1/2009 there is a state requirement for all applicants for a motorcycle license, or endorsement on a regular or commercial driver’s license, to provide proof of successful completion of an approved basic motorcycle operator training course, such as that offered by the Motorcycle Safety Foundation (MSF)
What does this mean to you? • For a long time you've been required to have a motorcycle endorsement/ license to legally operate a motorcycle in the state of Texas. Right now, you may have the option of taking a basic riders course to replace the riding portion of the test. Effective September 1, an approved basic rider course will now be required in order to apply and test for the motorcycle endorsement. • Many (more than a few) of our customers ride without a motorcycle license/ endorsement. (I don't know who you are, but I've heard about you...)This new requirement will probably increase those numbers. In response to this, if you are caught driving a motorcycle after September 1 without the motorcycle endorsement, law enforcement officials may confiscate your bike until you show proof of attendance in Motorcycle Riding Course.
Dallas Harley-Davidson offers the Riders Edge Learn to Ride program. If you don't have your official endorsement, now is the time to get it. Call Jerry at 972.270.3962 to get scheduled...and get legal.

From DFW Airport: Take 635 East to the Centerville/Ferguson Road Exit. Turn left (heading north) and get in the far right lane. Turn right inbetween the Wendy's and the AutoZone, and drive back in to the parking lot!
From Downtown and Western areas: Take I-30 east to 635North, then take the exit for Centerville/Ferguson Road. Stay in the right hand lane, and turn right inbetween the Wendy's and the AutoZone, and drive back in to the parking lot!
From Plano/Richardson/North Dallas/Carrollton: Get to 635 by whichever means is best for you (Central Expressway heading South, Dallas North Tollway south, 35 South), then Take 635 East to the Centerville/Ferguson Road Exit. Turn left (heading north) and get in the far right lane. Turn right inbetween the Wendy's and the AutoZone, and drive back in to the parking lot!
